Who We Are
The Friends of the Largo Nature Parks is a strong independent group that acts in a supporting role in the goals of delivering nature programs and opportunities to explore the natural world. The Friends group hosts several events each year to engage the public in the natural world around them. Events include the 5k turtle trot race and a family camp out, as well as reaching close to 5,000 kids in Pinellas County schools with the Nature in the Classroom program. Volunteers also assist with staffing at the nature center at McGough to help interpret nature for the public.
The Friends group has primary financial responsibility for the Birds of Prey program at McGough and supports these magnificent raptors through your donations and the Adopt-A-Raptor program. (see the next page for info on adopting a bird!)
The Friends of the Largo Nature Parks is a 501(c) 3 organization registered with the State of Florida.
